可靠性好，镀锌层与钢材间是冶金结合，成为钢表面的一部份，因此热镀锌角钢的镀层持久性较为可靠。角钢通常被称为角铁，

其横截面是一条钢带，两侧彼此垂直。角钢分为等边角钢和不等角钢。垂直的两个侧面的长度与等边角钢的长度相同，

而长和短为不等角钢。其规格以侧面宽度x侧面宽度x侧面厚度的毫米表示。
