镀铝板是具有良好抗腐蚀性、耐热性和热辐射性等性能的材料，与同样镀层厚度的镀锌钢板相比，耐蚀性提高3-6倍，与车体惯用的不锈钢、铸铁等材料相比，成本更低，兼具“性能优”“成本低”双重特点。所以镀铝板产品越来越受到汽车生产商的青睐，广泛应用于汽车排气管、发动机隔热罩等车体部件。镀铝板对于技术、设备、工艺要求极高，包括镀铝的控制和含量等等比传统镀锌、镀铝锌还要复杂，并且板型控制、表面平整、基板供应是否稳定、表面处理等都需要生产厂家解决。

镀铝工艺是在类似于热浸镀锌厚钢板的连续生产线上进行生产的，将冷轧薄钢板热浸于铝（镀铝）或硅质量百分数为5%～11%的铝合金（镀铝硅）的金属熔化液体里，获得所需的金属镀层。
